Pharmacy plans to add 100 jobs

5:14 p.m. EST, January 11, 2013

State and Orange County governments have granted a tax incentive package to a California-based pharmacy company in exchange for an $8.75 million to entice it to expand its operation here.

DaVita Rx, a pharmacy specifically for kidney patients, plans to hire 100 people over the next two years to staff a new $8.75 million mail-order operation in Orange County, officials said Friday. The state granted the company $300,000 from its Qualified Target Industry tax refund program, including $60,000 from the county.

Annual salaries for the new jobs must average at least $46,325 to qualify for the incentives, and the money will be paid after DaVita Rx shows it met the job goals.
